One of our newest judges, Nina Badzin, is a Minneapolis-based writer, wife, and mother of four. She always wanted to be a writer, but instead of studying writing or even literature at Washington University in St. Louis, she got a degree in Political Science and Spanish. After a graduate degree in English Education at the University of Minnesota and three years as an English teacher, she finally decided to give the writing dream a try after her second child was born.
Nina’s writing credits continued to grow along with her family. Her short stories have been published in over a dozen literary journals and anthologies, and she’s a columnist at three different websites. Nina also reviews books at greatnewbooks.org, and keeps her blog up to date weekly at ninabadzin.com.
Nina’s interests, other than reading, writing, blogging, and scrolling through Twitter, include helping newer bloggers navigate the online writing scene, cooking, yoga, barre, and spending time with her family and friends.
