Libby Carpenter lives in Preston and has been writing short stories for many years, but began writing her first novel in 2013 while being a stay-at-home mum to her second son. She completed a BA in English Literature and Language with the Open University in 2011.
Libby was longlisted for Yeovil Literary Prize (2015) and MSLexia Women’s Novel award (2015). Two of Libby’s flash fiction pieces were shortlisted on Mashstories.com.
She loves living in the north of England and sets most of her stories in the area, including the novel she is writing at the moment. Her writing heroes are Charlotte Bronte and Sally Wainwright – who illustrates you can find the humour in the darkest of situations. Libby enjoys painting and spending time with her family, as well as trying to conquer her ever-growing to-be-read pile.
